H7 series AC drive is a new generation of ultra-high performance intelligent vector drive independently developed by our company based on the industrial application requirements of high stability, high performance and easy debugging. It is suitable for asynchronous motor, permanent magnet synchronous motor, synchronous reluctance motor, etc. The system has accurate speed regulation, large low-frequency torque and fast load response. It can realize various functions such as spindle positioning, rigid tapping, thread cutting, low-speed reaming and so on.This manual mainly introduces the composition of H7 spindle AC drive, the application of indexing and positioning on CNC lathe, debugging method, parameter setting and so on.
The spindle is usually only used for speed control, but in some special cases, it is also necessary to control the position of the spindle. For example, the automatic tool change on the machining center, the tool transfer due to process requirements in boring, and the clamping of workpiece on the lathe at a specific position all require the spindle to stop at a specific position accurately, which is the spindle positioning function. That is, the CNC system sends a positioning command to the driver. The driver uses the Z signal on the spindle position encoder as the reference point to stop the spindle at a determined position and provide a certain torque.
H7 AC drive can realize indexing and positioning of multiple angles through digital input terminal or communication.

1.4 Motor self-learning: Set P06 00 = 1, press the "RUN" key on the keyboard, the motor starts complete self-learning, and the motor runs. After the motor stops, press the "STOP" key, the self-learning is completed.

Method of setting positioning position: when the driver is powered on and stopped, manually rotate the spindle to the position to be set, and then check the data of P10.82 (encoder angle), setting the data accordingly to P08.02~P08.09. Note: when multiple positions are fixed, P08.15 (position start source) needs to be enabled all the time.

The system controls the forward rotation, reverse rotation, speed regulation, indexing and positioning of the driver after the above steps are completed.
Positioning mode 1: the speed mode is switched to the spindle quasi stop control
The direction of positioning speed is consistent with the current running direction. If the zero point signal has been found, the spindle will follow the setting P02.70 deceleration time stops the spindle to the setting quasi stop position; If the zero point signal is not found, the spindle will continue to look for zero point according to P08.33 positioning speed .

Positioning mode 2: switch from standby mode to spindle quasi stop control, also known as nearby positioning
In this case, the system will plan the spindle running trajectory in the nearest direction. The spindle will not move exceed one circle, and the spindle speed will not exceed the positioning speed. If the zero signal is not found, the spindle will continues to look for zero point according to P08.33 positioning speed .
